What
do you do?
In three words or less... HIFY serves youth.
We work with youth and their service providers to improve the health and well-being
of all young people. To find out in more detail about how we accomplish that,
start at our homepage.
How
can I reach you and can I drop in?
Our phone number
is 415-274-1970, and you'll get the voicemail, but don't worry. If you don't know
the extension of the person you want, you can listen to a list of who's here or
leave a message in our general voicemail box and someone will get back to you
soon.
We're open roughly from 9-5 Monday-Friday, and
you're welcome to stop by, but do keep in mind that if we don't know you're coming,
we might not be able to give you all the time you need. We do have copies of our
publications here, though, so feel free to come on by.
We're
located at 235 Montgomery Street between Pine and Bush, and although parking is
available in our building, it's very pricey. The most affordable place to park
is the Sutter/Stockton garage at the corner of...you guessed it, Sutter and Stockton
Streets. When you get to our building, we're on the 4th floor in Suite 430.

How
can I get a training registration, workshop request, inservice request, or publications
order form?
You can call us and leave a message to have
one sent to you, or you can download one from this website. You will find our
workshop request forms on the Youth Workshops page,
and our training registration and request forms as well as inservice request forms
on our trainings page.
Our publications order forms are available on our HIFY
publications page.
How
much do your trainings, workshops, publications cost?
If
you are a youth 18 or under, our workshops, retreats
and publications are free to you. If you are an
adult or a provider, our trainings, inservices,
and publications aren't exactly free, but they're
low-cost and based on a sliding scale. See their descriptions for more information.
Can
I contact you for resources?
Sure. Who you should talk
to depends on what information you need, but you can start by e-mailing info@hify.org
or calling us. We'll try to get your questions answered quickly. And don't forget
that our publications for young people and service providers are packed with youth-friendly
resources and referrals.
How
often do trainings happen?
Our trainings series happen
three times a year (in spring, summer and fall). This is a great foundational
series for all youth health and social service providers. Check out our trainings
page for more details. Remember that inservices
are a great option for agencies that want to do a customized session for a group
of staff members.
Do
you table at events?
You bet! Because we can't possibly
meet every request, we prioritize events that have a youth audience and match
our health and wellness focus. Just e-mail us at info@hify.org
with your information and we'll try to match it up with our schedule.
How
do I access your services?
First, go the page for whatever
service you're looking for, whether it's our publications,
digital media, youth workshops,
retreats, or provider trainings.
You'll find all the details you need to take advantage of HIFY's programs. If
you still have questions, pick up the phone and ask us!
How
do I make a donation and what's your Tax ID number?
You
can make a donation online, via mail or by calling
our Development Director at 415-274-1970 x14. HIFY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
and our Tax ID number is 94-3162876.
Who
is on your staff and board?
We have lists on this website
of both our staff and board.
We have even provided the e-mail addresses and extensions of staff members, so
you can reach that person directly. If you want to reach a board member, contact
the Executive Director at 415-274-1970 x16.
Do
you need volunteers? Can I set up an internship? Do you have any job openings?
HIFY
sometimes needs volunteers and has a few openings a year for interns, usually
fulfilling a requirement for high school, college or an employment training program.
Information about current internships and volunteer opportuities can be found
in our Employment page.
